Malbork Castle

Student project about a graphic mark for Malbork Castle, the largest Gothic castle in the world belonging to the Teutonic era, and located in Poland. The development of a brand and two submarks is needed, since it encompasses two smaller castles in the area, in Sztum and Kwidzyn. Three locations that must be represented by an image that can be used independently for each of them, in the case of secondary castles must also include mention of the main museum.

The triangle is chosen as a concept, due to multiple symbologies. Three can be represented with a triangle and is also related to the religious origins of the building, since it was dedicated to Marienburg, which in religious mythology represents the Virgin. In the map of the castles we would observe the almost linear arrangement but in which we could draw a very elongated triangle.

During the visit I find in a window the concept that will be used as a starting point since it has that medieval image and includes the triangle. This motif is simplified and transformed to get an image that can be used as a brand and developed in both corporate elements and merchandising for the museum store.

These are the final logo implemented on corporate papers, visit cards, posters, and some merch.
