¡Hola!
My name is Andrea Lucas, aka alucal, a graphic designer & social media manager based in Spain (but my friends call me Caffeine).
When I was young I wanted to be lots of things, I started with Architecture but that did not go as I expected, I quit after learning many things after four years. And I found something that moved me, Graphic Design.
During my third year as a graphic design student, I went to Gdańsk, in Poland, as an erasmus student. This experience gave me such a wide point of view and a bigger open mind; the differences between classes and environments made me think and create ideas I didn’t have before. I also learnt that I’m more resolute and able to face problems and new situations.
Over time I’ve also learnt that in the design world learning never ends, and I think that is really fascinating. Every possibility and novelty to explore and explode really motivate me. I consider that my super power is my non-stop strength to work and learn, those who know me consider me a constant and committed person. When I want to learn something new I go with it and I push myself to manage it, I fight to achieve my goals, while I don’t cease to find new ones.
I’m mostly interested in typography and editorial design. I feel also attracted to the connection between traditional systems and the digital technologic world. Photography is an activity that I try to practice as much as I can, and I like to experiment with its link to collage and animation among other possibilities.
I can’t work without music, and I love to travel. Calligraphy relaxes me, because my weakness is that I am an overthinker.
